Rick's has been in operation since 1979 starting out as a small block and brick building in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee with only two pits, a drive-thru, and a walk up window. Our USDA inspected processing plant, central warehouse, and commissary for all operations provide us with the ability to deliver fresh, never frozen high quality products at the lowest possible price. In addition, we have large wholesale operations that service the southeast with distributions including large grocery warehouses, wholesale suppliers, and school systems. We are also excited to announce our newest expansion to Madison, Alabama coming in 2015. The main focus of our success has been our customers and employees. Rick's goal since 1979 has been to provide customers a high quality, fresh, never frozen, pure meat product at a competitive price. We are set apart by other wholesalers that mass produce only and never get to see the face of their customers. Making our products available at local grocery stores offers our customers the convenience and opportunity to pick up a pound of fresh barbecue, vacuumed packed for freshness to enjoy in the convenience of their home, at the campsite, or at their workplace.
We hickory smoke all of our pork and beef products and whole sugar-cured hams for over 24 hours and then hand pull them in our USDA inspected plant. We also hickory smoke our chicken breasts and ribs. Our products are fresh, never frozen, and our one-pound and five-pound vacuum sealed pork retail packs have a refrigerated shelf life of 12 weeks guaranteed if unopened.
